Chinthalapalem is a small village in Zarugumalli Mandal, Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. Nearest town is Ongole which is 25 km away from my village. It is located just 6 km away from National Highway 5. Chinthalapalem has 4 segments – Old village, new village, Mala Palle and Madiga Palle. “Paleru” river is the main source of water and “Ramalayam” is the major landmark in the village. Most of the people depend on agriculture and Tobacco is the main crop. Village was devastated by 1979 cyclone and it took 10 years for the villagers to recover economically from that catastrophe. History of the Chinthalapalem village: It was in Ulavapadu Samithi till 1987 and belongs to Kandukur Taluk.
