Chinthalapalem village: Location and history

 Chinthalapalem is a small village in Zarugumalli Mandal, Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. Nearest town is Ongole which is 25 km away from my village. It is located just 6 km away from National Highway 5. Chinthalapalem has 4 segments – Old village, new village, Mala Palle and Madiga Palle.  “Paleru” river is the main source of water and “Ramalayam” is the major landmark in the village. Most of the people depend on agriculture and Tobacco is the main crop. Village was devastated by 1979 cyclone and it took 10 years for the villagers to recover economically from that catastrophe. Telugu Desam and Congress are the major political parties in the village. Chinthalapalem village is in Kondepi Assembly Segment and Ongole Parliamentary Constituency.  History of the Chinthalapalem village: It was in Ulavapadu Samithi till 1987 and belongs to Kandukur Taluk. Chinthalapalem is the native place of great leader “Nalamothu Chenchurama Naidu” who was an agricultural minister in the Congress Government.   Chinthalapalem is a small village near Tangutur in Prakasam district. It is located on the left bank of Paleru river. Agriculture is the major source of income. Tobacco is the major crop.  Village history: Golconda Nawab Ibrahim Malik gave this village as an Enam to Kandukuri Rudra Kavi, renowned poet at his court. You can find his descendents in the village.
